Mosbach, 2020.12.10 – "It is virtually impossible to implement a Smart Factory without the Internet of Things (IoT) and a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) - quite the opposite: in today's world, an MES needs IoT to survive," summarizes Thorsten Strebel, CTO of MPDV. True to the motto, those who rest on their laurels are sure to fall behind, Strebel, the innovation driver is always on the lookout for new developments and innovations for the Smart Factory: "After all, someone has to explain to the market how to build workable solutions from all these innovative ideas!”
Innovation and standardization
Thorsten Strebel has been working for MPDV for more than 20 years and is responsible for the overall product division - from development to deployment. "Increasingly complex processes require individual programming. However, standards are still essential to make this complexity manageable and future-proof," explains Strebel. "A standardized individual software is the ideal solution". In addition to the Manufacturing Integration Platform (MIP), Strebel has also overseen the new Advanced Planning and Scheduling System (APS) FEDRA as it progressed from idea to the finished product. In addition, the Mosbach-born engineer for computer science is co-founder and managing director of AIMES GmbH, which provides MPDV with innovative solutions based on artificial intelligence.
Strebel is one of three new managing directors of MPDV who have taken charge since October 1, 2020. The other members of the new circle of managing directors are Jürgen Petzel, CSO, and Nathalie Kletti, CEO. All three experts had already been in the top management as authorized signatories and representatives of key business areas of the successful medium-sized company since the beginning of 2018.
