Mosbach, 10.11.2021 – Production planning plays a central role in the Smart Factory. MPDV is now launching FEDRA 2, the next generation of the Advanced Planning and Scheduling System (APS).
New features
FEDRA 2 includes the well-known features to plan orders, machines, resources, material and personnel in the Smart Factory and new functions for further use cases like parallel planning of multiple sites, live scheduling and an extended planning of material were introduced. Users benefit from an increase in flexibility and more planning security.
Different planners can now work simultaneously at a scenario and directly see the changes made by another planner. This kind of planning is even possible across several sites and in different time zones. Users can also easily identify completion dates for specific products or orders thanks to an enhanced integration of material availability in planning. This is what experts call real-time ATP (available-to-promise).
Technological improvements
"FEDRA 2 has also changed quite a bit in terms of technology," explains Jürgen Petzel, Chief Sales Executive at MPDV. "Modern architecture and optimized data retention significantly booster the FEDRA performance enabling even extensive planning scenarios."
FEDRA 2 is now available and can be operated both stand-alone or in combination with the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) HYDRA X by MPDV. MPDV's integration platform MIP guarantees the required interoperability.
