Machine information is written to the integration platform MIP independent of the manufacturer. The implementation on the machine side has to be realized only once - on the MIP side the interface is already standardized.

Industrial controllers control machines. All information and sensor data of the machine are available in these controllers. In order to access this information, a complex interface to the machine is often programmed, which works e.g. via OPC UA. 
With SQL4automation, this specific interface is not required. The controller calls web services defined in the MIP. The information is stored in the MIP or read from the MIP. This information can be used and processed by any participant.
There is no active connection from the MIP to the machine and the machine only interacts with other systems, such as an MES when needed. This facilitates the implementation and simplifies the maintainability enormously.
